DAISY HILL FC 5 v 4 SILSDEN AFC

                                                                                                         Stott 14, 21, 76, 90.

Cummins 45                                  Riley 32, 86.              Wilson 50, Smith 77.

The Cobbydalers travelled to Daisy Hill on a wet Monday night hoping to get back on track but the problems that have beset them for some time were soon evident. Silsden had a goal disallowed on thirty seconds and proceeded to create three good chances in the opening ten minutes, without cementing one. Daisy Hill first significant attack brought the opener when Sam Jacomb failed to clear a cross from the right which Ashley STOTT converted. It wasnt a good night for the Cobbydalers centre back who failed to control another cross on twenty-one minutes.  STOTT grab the opportunity to give the home side a two goal lead.

The Cobbydalers may have problems defensively but they do create chances. They had a total of twenty-two corners in the match. Danny RILEY pulled a goal back following a flowing move but, just as they had on Saturday, Silsden conceded just before the half-time whistle, when Will Storrie failed to track, Curtis CUMMINS, who had broken from his own half to rifle home a low shot.

Ross WILSON pulled another gaol back on fifty minutes with a superb drive from thirty yards out before Jacomb was again outsmarted by STOTT who completed his hat-trick on 76 minutes (4-2). A minute later it was 4-3 , Leon SMITH latching onto Storries through ball to slide it wide of the Daisy keeper. With four minutes left on the clock RILEY headed home to level the scores.

Could the Cobbydalers win, or could they hold out for a point. Nicky McNally failed to convert two chances, Riley hit the crossbar. Stoppage time went on and on before STOTT sealed the victory when he beat four defenders to a cross from a corner to seal the points for the home side.

The Cobbydalers travel to Ashton Town on Saturday and the Charnock Richard FC on Tuesday.
