New Keeper Joins the Cobbydalers!
BREAKING NEWS
BREAKING NEWS..........

Silsden AFC are delighted to announce their first summer signing in the form of former Burnley FC trainee Goalkeeper Callum Jakovlevs

Manager James Gill is delighted to have brought Callum to Keighley Road and believes it's a massive coup for the club after the young keeper turned down a host of clubs higher up the non league pyramid.

Gill added," firstly I would like to welcome Callum to this great football club, I am sure he will fit in with the lads really well. Callum is a keeper I have tracked for a while since he was released by Burnley, I tried to sign him at Barlick but he went onto play Evo-Stik football with Clitheroe FC. When I made the call and Callum agreed to come I was delighted. I knew once we got him to pre season that he would like what he saw and he's fit in really well with the rest of the lads. Callum is very loud and a very good organiser, he's a great shot stopper who will only get better and better with experience. Welcome on board mate".

The former Clarets trainee had a few words to say on his summer move across the border,
" I am really happy I have joined Silsden AFC for the forthcoming season, I can't wait to be back on the pitch after a patchy season last term that was hampered with an injury. Hopefully I can come here to win games, keep clean sheets and try get promotion back to the Premier division.

The Management team have been great to me, Gilly, Danny and Kev. It's also great having a keeper coach around the place too, which is massive at this level. I am really looking forward to working with Kev Knappy. Another massive pull for me was the fact James and Danny both obviously know the game and league as they have both played at this level and higher before. I can't wait to get started and hopefully show the club what I can offer".
